About us
We are two experienced and trained translators of English, French and Portuguese living in Portugal, who have worked full-time for seven years in a translation bureau and who have been working as freelance translators for the past couple of years. We are now working full-time (9 am to 8 pm GMT, sometimes later), with e-mail access from 9 am to 11 pm GMT.
Working Methods
We work together because we find that team-work is more effective and compensating in our line of work. One team member performs the initial conversion of the text into the target language. We use the reference material provided by the client (if provided) and create glossaries of terms specific to his/her company and industry, in order to maintain consistency throughout future translations. The finished translation is then subject to proof-reading by the other team member who revises the text.
The projects provided to us are subject to a Trados Breakdown System. To get more information, send us your project and we will be glad to send all the necessary information you may need.
Working Tools
Our computer systems are PCs: Celeron 2.66 Ghz, 512 MB/Pentium IV, 2.3 GHz, 512 MB RAM - Windows XP Home Edition and AMD Athlon XP 2200+, 1.80 GHz, 512 MB RAM - Windows XP Professional Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 1. We own an all-in-one (printer-fax-scanner-copier) + DVD-R/RW + CD-R/RW.
The working tools are the programs Office 2003, SDL Trados 2006, Trados 5.5/6.5/7.0, FrameMaker 5.5, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Publisher, MSN Messenger 6.0, WS FTP95 LE, etc.. We have a 24h cable modem Internet connection at 640 kbps. Our mail is downloaded every minute.
